Basic Package

Includes private car and driver from airport (or train station) to rental apartment and back, as well as the cost of 1 week’s rental of a luxury apartment. Included are the concierge services of an Experience Coordinator, who will provide a private, personalized orientation to the neighborhood surrounding your rental apartment as well as personalized assistance throughout your stay.

Architecture, Food, Sailing, and Day Trips

This package provides the services of the Basic package in addition to the following suggested itinerary, which can be modified according to your wishes.

Day 1 – Arrival

Upon arrival at the Barcelona airport, you will be escorted through passport control and led to the Premium Air Lounge. There you can relax while your luggage is transported to your waiting car.

Our Experience Coordinator will meet you in the lounge and escort you to your car. She will travel with you to your rental apartment, pointing out landmarks along the way (both well known monuments and locally known treasures.)

After dropping your luggage, you will be given the option of a walking tour of the area surrounding your apartment, or you may postpone it for the following day. (Most international flights arrive in the morning, but your apartment may not be available until the afternoon. Walking the neighborhood will allow you to brush away the cobwebs of jet lag while your apartment is prepared.)

Day 2 – Walking tour of the Gothic Quarter

Meet your guide for your private half-day walking tour of the Gothic Quarter. Walk to the charming Montcada Street lined with lovely Gothic mansions. Enjoy a privately guided visit of the Picasso Museum Its collection offers a key to understanding the formative years of Pablo Picasso.

Visit the impressive Santa Maria del Mar church, built between 1329 and 1383, at the height of Catalonia’s maritime and mercantile pre-eminence. Continue with a stroll along La Rambla. Stop in the lively and famous Modernist La Boqueria Market to pick up some groceries for your apartment. (Closed on Sundays).

Day 3 – Architectural Tour of Barcelona

Your guide and driver will pick you up at your apartment and take you on an architectural tour of Barcelona. Begin with a panoramic drive up to Montjuic Hill viewing the Olympic sites, which were designed by leading architects such as Izosaki, Bofill and Calatrava. See the view of Barcelona from above.  

Drive to the famous Manzana de la Discordia, three Modernist apartment buildings including Casa Batllo (outside only) by Gaudi. Visit Casa Mila, also known as La Pedrera, Gaudí’s most charming apartment building. Tour an apartment decorated from the era and see the famous rooftop chimney knights. Continue with your driver to see the magnificent Church of the Sagrada Familia, Gaudí’s unfinished masterpiece.

Day 4 – Full day tour to Gerona and Figueras

Your English speaking driver will meet you at your apartment at 9 a.m. and begin the hour drive to Gerona. There you will meet your guide for your tour of the magnificent medieval city and view houses from the Middle Ages that overlook the River Onyar. Stretch your legs by walking through one of the most important historic Jewish quarters in Spain and visit the Museum of Jewish History, as well as the impressive cathedral nearby. Your guide will recommend a spot for lunch before leaving Gerona.

Continue on to Figueras with your guide and driver, to visit to the Dalí Theatre Museum, designed by the artist himself to invite visitors into his uniquely entrancing world. Dali himself said it cannot be called a museum, but a gigantic surrealist object. The site contains the broadest range of his works from his earliest artistic experiences and his creations within the Surrealist movement down to the works of the last years of his life.

Day 5 – Sailing

After a busy day of excursions, a day to relax. Take a taxi on your own to the Port Olimpic of Barcelona, where you will meet the crew for your private sailboat excursion.

Enjoy a 4-hour private sailing trip. Your skipper speaks some English but won’t be acting as a guide. Depending on wind and sea conditions you will be able to sail on the open sea and swim near the beach. Have lunch on board with typical Spanish products and the incredible background of Barcelona’s skyline as your constant companion before returning back to the port.

Day 6 – Cooking Class

Enjoy a hands-on cooking class and learn about the variety and quality of Catalan food in a guided visit to one of the city’s expansive markets. Here you will buy some of the supplies for your cooking class. Continue by taxi to the cooking lesson venue, a private home in a quiet quarter north of Barcelona. Nice surroundings for a charming penthouse with a big kitchen and terrace overlooking the Tibidabo Mountain.  

Your experienced teacher will cook, with your help, two main dishes and a dessert based on some of the most famous recipes of regional Catalan cuisine. Lunch will follow with wines. If the weather is right, enjoy the courses you have prepared on the terrace with a gorgeous view.

Day 7 – Last day in Barcelona

Relax and enjoy the Catalan atmosphere on your last day. You can shop in the city’s charming boutiques, stroll its galleries, enjoy its street art, sit in an outdoor cafe to people watch or stroll along Barceloneta Beach.

Day 8 – Homeward Bound

Your driver will meet you at your apartment and take you back to the Barcelona airport. A VIP assistant will meet you when you arrive at the terminal and will take care of express check-in after you’ve dropped off your luggage (not available with all airlines). 

You will be escorted through security, and led to a Premium Air Lounge to wait for your flight. Finally, you will be escorted (on foot) directly to the plane when boarding begins.
Say Hasta luego to Barcelona, because by now you will have fallen in love with the city and will be planning when you can return.
